The Holy Spirit, Our Guide

“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth…and He will tell you what is yet to come.” – John 16:13 (NIV)

Isn’t it amazing that Almighty God has provided everything we need to equip us for this life? All we have to do is rely on His guidance. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (NIV).

Our very existence consists of more than the high-level thinking process we are involved in and even the diagnosis and prognosis of the experts who may disappoint us from time to time.

The world is experiencing countless disappointments all the time in various professions, different fields of knowledge, and even industries. This is simply saying that one cannot rely wholly on human wisdom to live a successful life.

With this understanding, we need to learn to appreciate and depend on the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Remember, Jesus said, “…And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20 – NIV). Jesus makes this possible through the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit.

Let’s review the Scripture reading above (John 16:13). Isn’t this wonderful? The Holy Spirit is our sure and dependable Guide. With Him, you’re not going to be left groping in the dark, waiting for others to make decisions for you, or indecisive about how your life should go. He, the Holy Spirit, will guide you into all truth. He will also, if you allow Him, reveal the future to you.

Let us allow the Holy Spirit to direct our lives and show us the future. Let your faith be in God’s Holy Word, and become dependent on the Holy Spirit for guidance and direction for all things.
